Description: Starting January 1, 2010, the Pennsylvania Department of Labor will update the state’s building code to the 2009 International Residential Code book. Mark your calendars! The BACP is partnering with the Pennsylvania Housing Resource Center to offer BACP members a 2009 code orientation class on November 4th.
This program will help assure builders that their products will easily move through plan reviews and inspections.
The course will be held in the auditorium of the Central PA Institute of Science and Technology (CPI). This full-day program will run from 8:00 am - 4:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided. Registration fees are being confirmed.
Some of the key code changes that will be discussed are: habitable attics, carbon monoxide detectors, cast-in-place and pre-cast foundations, residential sprinklers, new energy requirements, and much more!
Participants will not only get an understanding of the changes, but how it will impact the way houses are designed, built and inspected!
