Builder of the Year - Cisney & O'Donnell
This award was presented to a Builder member who has perpetuated the mission and supported the priorities of the Builders Association of Central PA by operating in such a way as to: participate in civic/community service, promote trade education/professional development, practice innovation.

It is with great respect that the Builders Association of Central PA presents this award to Cisney & O’Donnell. Not only does the Cisney family get kudos for standing out among our members for 2008-2009, but they also deserve special recognition for being able to work so closely and successfully together for the past 40 years! That accomplishment alone deserves an award!!

For those of you who don’t know, Cisney & O’Donnell is located in Huntingdon, PA – which is about an hour’s drive from State College. They have created a strong presence and have carved out a client base for themselves here due to their progressive thinking, perseverance, positive attitude and lots of miles on their vehicles. They maintain memberships in both the BACP and the Huntingdon County Builders Association. 

To survive 40 years in multiple counties and through multiple economic climates, a company needs to not be above conducting periodic reviews of themselves and changing to meet the needs of current customers.  Cisney & O’Donnell remains open minded and embraces the fact that different approaches may need to be taken when dealing with different types of customers.  To help develop their strategies, they participate with various councils and networks provided through their membership in PBA and NAHB to benchmark, and brainstorm innovative ways to meet customer demands.  As a result they have grown from roofing and siding contractors, to include all facets of home remodeling, swimming pools, a retail store, light commercial construction and a line of custom built homes.

As a staff, they take advantage of educational opportunities and continue to expand upon their knowledge and expertise by seeking industry certifications. They take an honest, respectful approach with their customers and with their colleagues. Cisney & O’Donnell values the relationships they have built over the years with community and industry partners and consistently works toward maintaining those relationships.

As a group they exemplify the BACP’s mission to “improve the community in which we work and live” by taking on various volunteer and leadership roles with organizations like Habitat for Humanity, and the Raystown Lake Visitor Bureau. On top of it all, they mange to balance their time between their professional and personal lives - which is demonstrated at every show Denny Jr.’s band One-Way plays.
