| We Give Back to the CommunityAwards more than $2,500 Scholarships Each Year to Local Students - Kevin Zimmerman Scholarship Fund – Scholarships are awarded annually to Centre County students and Penn College students for their outstanding performance in the building trades.
- Local High School Scholarships – Each year the association awards $600 in scholarships to local high school seniors that display outstanding skills
- Penn State NAHB Student Chapter Scholarship – Each year the association awards a $1,000 scholarship to an outstanding student studying residential building at Penn State University
Partnerships with Tri-County Habitat for Humanity - Builders Association of Central PA partners with Habitat for the Annual Bricks and Sticks Classic Golf Outing.
- Builders Association of Central PA also participates in HouseWalk, which is a 5-mile walk to raise money for Habitat. Volunteers from the BACP plan the event and walk in the event.
- Habitat Blitz Builds in 1990, 1992, 2000 – More than 300 volunteers come together to build a house in 30 hours for a Habitat family
Charitable Donations back to the Community Ticket proceeds from the Annual Parade of Homes and Landscapes is donated to a local charity. In 2008 all ticket proceeds will go to the Centre County Child Access Center. State College Food Bank The Builders Association of Central PA teams up with the Centre County Realtors Association and the Young Lawyers of Centre County to compete for the Marcaroni Trophy. The competition encourages each organization to collect food and monetary donations to benefit the State College Food Bank. |
